10 Out of 14: My Mid-Detox Check-In
Ten days without social media on my phone. My Facebook and Instagram habits have been disrupted — and I love it.
I did a Facebook Live from my business page on my laptop, and I realized how much I miss sharing videos. I love to create them. I'm still creating, just less — and I like that too. My brain needed the break.
In my neurocycle work, there's a day where you take the toxic thoughts that might show up and place them in a house behind a locked window. To that thought you say: I see you. You don't control me. I control you. That's exactly what I want for when I return to social media. I see you. I control you — you don't control me.
A podcast today reminded me that everything we allow into our lives impacts our nervous system. I desire a calm, regulated nervous system. That's why I cold plunge, meditate, write, run, and listen to books and podcasts that point toward a way of thinking and being that feels good. Aligning more and more to the person I am — and the person I'm becoming — is my journey.
I love it. I can't look back — only forward, with gratitude for everything that brought me here. To this place of presence, continued growth, and a deeper understanding of myself.
